Ready-to-use palladium plating bath with a concentration of 2 g of palladium per litre. It allows the deposition of 99.9% pure palladium coatings with a maximum thickness of 0.2 microns.
Particularly suitable as a final finish thanks to the bright white appearance of the coating. It can also be used as a base layer before subsequent electroplating treatments on silver.
One of its main advantages is its ability to act as a barrier against copper oxides, commonly found in silver jewellery, helping to prevent the subsequent appearance of stains or discolouration on the treated surface.
Palladium electroplating.
Excellent alternative to nickel plating.
Barrier coating to prevent copper oxidation and surface staining.
Voltage: 2 V.
Operating temperature: 30 °C.
Important: Do not touch the pieces directly with your hands during the process.
Clean the pieces using an ultrasonic cleaner.
Rinse thoroughly under running water.
Connect the equipment's cathode clamp to the wire holding the piece.
Apply the appropriate voltage.
Carry out electrolytic degreasing for 30–45 seconds using a V2 stainless steel anode.
Rinse under running water.
Rinse with distilled water.
Rinse with acidified water (composition: 950 ml distilled water + 50 ml chemically pure sulphuric acid).
Rinse with distilled water.
Immerse the piece in the palladium plating bath with the voltage applied for 90 seconds, using a platinum-coated titanium anode.
Rinse with distilled water.
Dry using standard methods.
Important note: Separate containers must be used for each stage to prevent cross-contamination caused by solution carryover.
