Technoflux 24K Gold Plating Bath N (2N–3N) 4 g/L

The Technoflux 24K Gold Plating Bath N (2N–3N) 4 g/L deposits a uniform, bright gold coating onto the pieces being treated.

Specifically developed for decorative jewellery applications, this plating bath can produce coatings up to 6 microns thick through a relatively fast deposition process.

The solution contains no nickel, lead or cadmium.

The resulting finish has the characteristic colour of pure gold, as no other alloying metals are used in the deposited coating.

Specifications

• Coating thickness: up to 6 microns.

• Operating voltage: 2.5–3.5 V, depending on the size of the piece.

• Operating temperature: 55–60 °C.

• Plating time: from 3.5 minutes.

• Deposition rate: 1 micron in 3.5 minutes at 2 A/dm².

• Anode-to-cathode ratio: 1:1.

• Anode type: platinum-coated titanium.

• Agitation: moderate.

• Bath capacity: until the gold content in the solution (4 g) is depleted.

Instructions for Use

1. Pour the contents of the bottle into the designated electroplating container.

2. Securely suspend the piece to be gold-plated using copper wire.

3. Clean the piece using an ultrasonic cleaner or with soap and water.

4. Rinse thoroughly under running water.

Important: Do not touch the piece directly with your hands after cleaning.

5. Connect the equipment's clip to the copper wire supporting the piece.

6. Immerse the piece in the first container, equipped with a stainless steel anode and electrolytic degreasing solution, for 30–45 seconds at a voltage of 4–6 V.

7. Rinse under running water.

8. Rinse with distilled water in a second container.

9. Immerse the piece in the gold plating bath, using a separate container, for at least 3.5 minutes.

Important: A post-treatment procedure is required to ensure the removal of chemical residues from the electroplating bath.

Post-Treatment

1. Wash with demineralised water.

2. Wash under warm running water.

3. Rinse again with demineralised water.

4. Dry using standard methods.
